Q: How much do you charge for a tattoo?
A: I charge $100 minimum and $150/hr. Final pricing comes down to the size and detail of a tattoo. I also take a $50 non-refundable deposit that secures your appointment and goes toward your tattoo total.
Q: Do hand-poked tattoos hurt less than machine tattoos?
A: The paint level of tattoos is subjective to the placement of the tattoo and individual getting tattooed. However hand-poke tattoos are much less abrasive process than getting a machine tattoo, and therefore could be considered less painful. Guns rapidly move a needle up and down and drag across the skin, while hand-poke is about penetrating the skin one poke at a time to create an image.
Q: Do hand-poke tattoos take longer than machine tattoos?
A: Yes. I would say generally they take about 30 mins longer to any machine tattoo. So if a machine tattoo took 30 mins, a hand-poke would take an hour. Timing is all subjective to the design, its size, and detail. Sometimes a tiny tattoo with fine details take longer than a heavy lined tattoo 3x is size.
Q: How long does it take to heal?
A: Because hand-poke tattoos are less abrasive, they can heal as quickly as 3 days depending on the type of tattoo, but general rule of thumb is at least 5-7days unless told otherwise.
Q: Are hand-poke tattoos permeant?
A: Hand-poke tattoos are just as permeant as machine tattoos. Sometimes they require touch ups.
Q: Do you do free touch ups?
A: Yes! I offer one free touch up session with every tattoo. Fading is subject to each person and each tattoo. I usually suggest that people wait at least 3 months for the tattoo to fully settle into the skin before coming in for a touch up session.
Q: What kind of clothing should I wear?
A: In general the main suggestion I would make is to not wear your favorite outfit, or white! Tattooing can be a little messy and the last thing you want is to stain your beloved one-of-a-kind vintage piece, or your favorite white tee.
Q: Will you be able to send me a sketch of my tattoo design before our appointment?
A: No, sorry. Due to my schedule I only prepare tattoo designs to be seen the day of our appointment. This is why its super important to be as descriptive as possible when booking your appointment. I will have multiple sizes and in some cases more than one design to choose from. I am always open to adjusting designs once we are in person.
Q: Do you do color tattoos?
A: No at this time I only do black and grey. I don’t use white in either.
Q: How do I take care of my tattoo?
A: Please read my AFTERCARE page for more instructions on how to take care of your tattoo.
